and cork will be playing down in the this year's football.. as they were on the losing side against kerry last year, they will be on yet another mission this year to win the championship.. sun sept 19th..

i'm rooting for kilkenny for hurling and cork for football..

weekly updates on epl: man utd is back in contention to win 4th consecutive premiership title following a win over man city.. they closed the gap back to one point.. and chelsea did not manage to extend the lead after losing to spurs ~4 hours later on saturday..

in champs league.. inter milan was at their best after a magnificent win against the spanish giant barcelona at home 3-1 in the first leg of the semi-final.. quick note, no single italian international in the 1st eleven who started for inter milan during that match..

eire did not manage to retain the championship and the grand slam title this year in rbs six nations.. we also missed out on the triple crown after the defeat against scotland.. however the speedy irish lad timmy bowe was awarded the best player of the tournament.. with 3 tries.. and fantastic display and performance throughout the whole tournament..

the premiership is now approaching the end of the season with only 2 points difference between the current league leader and 3rd spot.. i reckon the 38th fixture will decide who will claim the title this season.. and of course manchester united all the way..

Finding neverland

It is great to be a child. No responsibility, no guilt, no social pressure.

I found that out today. I was at a birthday party of a friend's daughter. She is one today. Happy birthday.

All decked out with bouncing castle and all. Cold sunny day. And looking at her sis, jumping and playing in the bouncing castle made me miss my childhood. How I longed for it.

But I'm sure all of you do miss your childhood. But we are all grown up now. Deal with it.

Had a fulfilling day. Not everyday can I say that.

an idea popped out.. as usual it came from the head of the mastermind - mr monday.. croke park, our destination.. the first match of rbs six nations 2010.. the green lads were playing against the azzurri to defend the title.. we started off our journey from cork.. made a few de-tours - with the "help" of tomtom.. had our lunch in the food hall.. a few candids.. and off we went to our premium seats.. the anthems and the irish call.. and the kick off..

quick easy tries from the champions but they conceded one towards the end of the first half.. the second half was quite quiet.. if i'm not mistaken the score for the latter half was only 3-3.. a bit frustrating as the irish were attacking towards our area on the 2nd half but there was no exciting move etc.. the final score = 29-11.. it was great fun altogether..

and the question at the end of the day - have you "grown up" as a person?? spiritually, intellectualy, mentally, self-esteem wise etc2.. you name it.. and that's your own responsibility not others..

week 1 post AL is not too bad at all.. things are under control.. it could be because we are approaching the end of the year.. reasonable number of admissions, ward jobs etc2.. had a proper 3-course-meal luncheon today.. all paid for by the hospital.. great food.. appetiser = prawn and salmon.. main = chicken + potato + vege.. dessert = fruits and pudding..

i still remember my last match was against smsob.. back in ~april 2004.. i was representing asas that day.. padang utm kl campus was the venue.. i was injured half way through in the first half when i pulled my hamstring.. since then a level-s exam.. then torn my acl etc2.. rehab period.. went overseas..

and last saturday it was again, against smsob.. but this time i played for my alma matter - kyser.. after 5 1/2 years post-injury.. this time the result was in my favour i.e. we managed to steal the limelight of the tournament by winning the match with a scoreline of 15-5.. winning against the defending champion is something to be proud of.. and against the one of the most established team, is, honestly, far beyond my imagination.. on my side, it could be a better performance..

but that's what we call team spirit.. faith and belief.. everything is possible..

as most of the other interns, we're currently in the 3rd rotation of our 1st 6 months.. being assigned to rheumatology atm.. saw a few steroid injections alright.. management of joint pain - analgesia used ranging from paracetamol to morphine.. solpadeine solpadol tramadol pregabalin etc2.. diseases like acute inflammatory arthritis.. sciatica.. sjogren's syndrome.. hopefully can gain a lot more things out of this specialty..

hey lads,

Its sunday. and it is a day post birthday celebration. Had a wonderful birthday.

For breakfast, Bibik cooked her special nasi goreng which I'd missed a lot. Then we had an amazing Thornton choc cake (thank you Along), with singin and cutting cake with skype papa mama adik in KL.

This is the first time celebrating it in London with a good few hours skyping and just letting Qistyna Alisya entertaining mama papa n adik back home with her talking, dancing and other cheeky antics.

Then we went to Westfield for some birthday shopping (both Along's and my bday) and then some Malaysian lunch at the newly opened Jom Makan restaurant there.

Thank you papa mama adik angah along abanglong Qis bibik and all my friends (including you) who wished.

This year is a milestone for me, and thank you for making it so memorable.

Hello people. it is 430am tuesday.
had a very busy day yesterday.
for those who did not know, i am doing orthopaedics now.
it is tough. one of the toughest internship work around.
but i am handling it ok, quite well actually.

as it is monday, in the usual custom i shall be putting up a video for ye all.

this video brings a lot on the table.

this is the 3rd week where only 2 med interns covering the whole hosp [~100 med patients].. as one of us is sick.. hence a very busy week.. so from 1/3rd of ward jobs become 1/2.. on top of that, i think the hosp is getting busier and busier.. at this stage, nothing much i can do apart from keep going..

put complaint aside, something to share with the audience.. from the journal club meeting yesterday.. 25-50 out of 100,000 populations are narcoleptic, if you refer to accepted international data from researchers world wide.. but in most countries, around 60-80% are left undiagnosed.. sleep study is one of the ways to diagnose the condition.. for me it's hard to believe that the condition exist.. i initially thought it's just pure sleepiness.. =)

Selamat Hari Raya Maaf Zahir Batin.

I am now back in Cork. 2 weeks in Malaysia is simply not enough. but i am thankful that I got a chance to go back for Eid.

This Eid was special. spent time with friends and family. In a very short time, I tried to see and meet as much as possible.

As always, here is a video of my raya in kampung Perlis.

it's difficult enough to focus and concentrate.. it's easy enough for you to make mistake.. the threshold for anger and madness is very very low.. and most of the time things don't go your way..

but then again, the tiredness is mainly in the mind.. and to be honest, sometimes the stuffs above (in the previous para) are just excuses.. keep approaching things/jobs with positive mental attitude.. with passion.. with excitement.. with clean heart lungs liver etc2...

and something to ponder: quoted from the movie "save the last dance" = "the only person you need to be is yourself"

Dulu masa skolah time nak semayang berjemaah, imam akan cakap, saaafff.. lurus dan rapatkan saf. penuhkan ruang2 yg kosong. maka ruang2 yg kosong pun dipenuhi. mase kat surau smayang terawih and masjid mase smayang jumaat haritu dah beberapa kali aku perhati ruang2 saf yg kosong tak dipenuhkan. org blakang tgk ada kosong depan tanak masuk, org yg tepi tanak rapat2kan. so terbiarlah ruang kosong itu. tak dgr jugak imam ingatkan makmum utk sempurnakan saf. hmmm.. dulu2 blajar boleh gerak sket2 dalam smayang utk rapatkan saf. mungkin mereka itu tidak tahu..

salam u all!

im now at golden straits village beach resort PD (sounds exotic) ....a budget hotel hehehe. Tgh nak habis btn/induction. Doctors here are mostly from ukraine, russia, indonesia...+ ireland (me), UK, canada and newzealand. wow sume aku tak kenal hahahaha. but on the first day i met a bunch of great ukraine grad doctors, very friendly la (pictures in my facebook). one of them is posted to hosp selayang as well...oh yea ive been posted there. starting my rotation on the 14th. the timing is noot gooood.. i think i wont be celebrating raya with my family for another year.

im feeling great and excited. wish me luck.

So it has been approximately 1 month in ObsGynae. 3 weeks of tagging in labour room and now i'm in the antenatal ward. Labour room was fun.lots of action. branak sana sini, C-sect sana sini, fetal distress, poor progress.. auntie2 staff nurse sume baik2 n very helpful. buka posa sama2, bagi makan banyak2. so it was stressful but fun. dah on-call 3 kali 3-3 mmg takda tdo(well 1 tu dapat tdo sejam lebe). in the wards its a whole new story. i'm still a bit slow and getting the hang of it. jenuh nak igt semua patient and jobs to do what not. some colleagues are helpful, some would just leave you for dry. nak mintak tolong pandai tapi kita die takmau tolong. sheesh. Being nice to the nurses helps a lot. especially when you forget bout things and they would remind you. so far so good. hope no blunders come my way.fuh fuh..

anyways, blog ni nampaknye has only 3 writers left. yg lagi 2 tu apa cita pun taktau.. well. tanak tulis sudaa... tiada paksaan.

talking about the epl.. the season has begun.. anticipating an exciting season.. with the multi-million man city all star.. with flair and beautiful passing game, arsenal will definitely become one of the favourites to win the league this year.. chelsea with the new italian tactical specialist is on their great winning form.. liverpool although not on their best form at the moment, will surely bounce back.. not to forget other teams in the like of spurs, villa etc2.. and regardless of other teams of course i'll be supporting and cheering for my all time favourite man united.. again for the 3rd consecutive years we'll be wearing the gold patch in every single league fixture.. glory glory champione..

Wow. Time flies. It's Monday, the start of yet another working week. Haizum is going to London, and asks me on Twitter on which place for shopping would I suggests, and I said- Westfield, it's amazing. Big shopping mall, although not as big as midvalley but big enough with farrr more highly modern finish than midvalley. Ada high end alleys like LV Gucci etc to normal brands like next, sports direct, topshop. Zara. Another a must see place is Camden Market, and the Camden stables.. Shopping ala pasar malam. Packed on Sundays but the atmosphere is nothing like uve felt. X caya?

it is sometimes uncomfortable to get help from the seniors and others.. ego, feeling incompetence, inferiority complex, the thought that they might talk behind your back etc2.. but the truth is (most of the time, if not all the time) they are more than welcome to help you.. what you need to do is just ask for help.. and when you wish for something don't expect to get everything fulfilled.....

Got Obs Gynae for my first posting.

Finished 1st day of tagging.

7am- 10pm for 14 days.

Got to clerk and admit/discharge acute patients.

Lots and lots of VE.

Still lots to learn, especially management..

Nak amek history dalam BM pun slow dan berkarat..

Stakat ni, the colleagues, MO's and nurses seems nice.

Anyway, just when was about to go back, emergency referral from KPMC came in with PET, sadly when echo was done, FHR xde..confirmed IUD.. sedih tgk couple tu. 1st baby..family sume nangis2 kat luar.

OK.tabahkan diri. Perjalanan masih panjang..

Hello all. It's Monday, it's 0541 now. I'm in bed in London at my sis place. Nak tulis pasal apa ye? Terbaca entry shahid, rasa kesian pula diorang kerja teruk2. I wonder how they r doing? Saw a few pics of their induction/btn Kat kl, hitam putih baju, teringat baju skolah pengawas mrsm taiping! Semalams weather was clear n sunny. Very summery so we decided to go to Eastbourne, a beautiful beach complete with pier, arcade n fish an chips. I'll put a vid up later. Maybe. Takecare, tak kira continent mana anda berada.

A few updates, after 1 week of induction now i'm about to start my posting in Hospital Kajang. Luckily tak tercampak jauh2 sangat. A bit dissapointed tak dapat Hospital Serdang sbb dah penuh post houseman. Kat situ good cardiology dept. Anyways, dapat dekat ni pun ok. Dgr2 Hospital Kajang is a bit of a mess. ada 300beds, 70 houseman, 1 surgical ward campur2.. thats what i heard at the mo. Tak tahu lagi posting which dept dulu. Berdebar2..

Esok awal2 pagi kene pegi lapor diri ke Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Selangor in Shah Alam. Pkl 6 pagi kene gerak yo takut2 jem lalu LDP..

Oh ye, tadi pegi kenduri si Ariff Fahmi kawen kat Kelana Jaya. Selamat dah kawan aku ni sorang. And ade lebih kurang mini reunion la ngn classmates2 from KMB yg dah 5 tahun tak jumpe. Tepet, Jehe, Shahid, Naim, Thor, Ajis. Half kat JB and half kat Manipal melaka.

Sekumpulan keluarga diusir keluar dari rumah mereka pada awal2 pagi oleh kumpulan tentera Zionis laknat Israel. Pas dorg usir keluarga yg dalam 50 orang ni dorang bawak masuk beberapa pendatang Israel untuk ddk situ. Sume ni disaksikan oleh pasukan pengaman PBB. BAPAK AA KURANG HAJAR KAN??? haishh..marah btol..

It's monday! Totally forgot to do an entry last mon. Sorry bout that. Now that 23, the new house have Internet n digital tv, I'm far more inclined to stay home. We chose Chorus, with the max internet option = 20mb n unlimited no cap download. Best giler, better than the 75 house. The new house's couch is very comfortable. Boleh tido terus bila duduk. Bright red color. Overall, I love this house. Bilik ok, location is amazing. N ensuite. No complains.

Vajayjays. Obs n gynae in cork univ maternity hospital is great. Enjoying it.

Owen is 7. Never hav I been so excited in football till now.

JLS. 1st Debut song just released this week and it went straight to number 1 in the singles chart. They should have won the X factor, they're the real winner.

Hai hai hai..

Malaysia Hari ini.

Apa kabar kawan2 di cork?

saya merindui anda2 semua.

Dah 2 minggu jejak kaki kat Malaysia. Minggu 1st selesaikan urusan pendaftaran and lapor diri kat Putrajaya.

Then balik ke Alor Setar utk kenduri kesyukuran.

Sejak sampai Malaysia ni, banyak bende dah aku lihat yang mengembalikan semula rasa2 Malaysia.

Dari gelagat mat motor yg mencilok2 sampai langgar keta org, dari saban hari kes2 pecah rumah, dari gimik2 politik, dari isu2 PPMSI yg dibatalkan, dari kes selsema babi, dari kes perceraian dan masalah rumahtangga artis yg kecoh2 kat paper..

Banyak bende menarik yang nak aku kupaskan andai aku ada masa before start keje.

Bile start keje? Keje kat mana? itu soalan2 pakcik2 dan makcik2 dan org kampung sejak aku balik ni.

Too bad aku takdak jawapan utk semua tu. Cubaan utk menghubungi KKM asik tak berjaya. tah ape dorg buat kat ofis tak angkat telefon, aku pun tak tahu. Ntah btol dorg bagi nombor pn aku tak tahu.

K lah, nak gi beli roti canai untuk breakfast. Rough night rough night..
