We are back in Cork!!

Alhamdulillah selamat sampai from our journey (Cork-Dublin-Stockholm-Liverpool-Cork)y
Badan lenguh, kaki penat, dan segalanya letih. Needs a day or two to recharge our batteries.
For today, stay at home, kemas2, basuh2 segala. The weather outside is very very very nice.
So tempted to go out :)

My dad's cuti has been passed by KSN so don't have to go to London to fetch my mum n brothers. Jimat sket duit kene beli tiket. Tak sabar menunggu kedatangan dorg. I have two more weeks here before that. What to do?

I have some things to give away for very cheap prices since i wont be bringing them back to Malaysia. So watchout this space soon!

Kajang

cakap-cakap ilman aiman

hmm, what to write for today's entry??

it's been roughly a week since i got back. a lot of things have changed since. like the one way street next to pasar kajang is now turned the opposite way. the arked mara is now under renovation. so, all the shops are closed temporarily.. i think. then, there's a new petronas near jalan reko, heading towards bangi with lots of shophouses nearby all clustered into a place called Reko Sentral.

and i notice, the food is getting more expensive here. even the fast food chains are hiking up their prices these days. but i've discovered several new places where they have great ambience with affordable price to match. so give and take, still ok la.but above all that, Satay Kajang still maintain okeh!! =D

the single ladies phenomenon

cakap-cakap ilman aiman

since the boys will not be home for next few days, then.., u people have to settle for me la, blogging all the way from Kajang.

so what i have been up to since coming back? macam2!!!

anyway, since ade xtra masa sikit, layan u tube jap, then i encounter these videos. i think all of them are pretty good. so, watch them with an open mind, don't be so uptight and loosen up a bit. i just love how this song transends into every generation. u can be young, old, male, female, skinny or having that extra pounds and still shake it like u mean it.

  • the ladies are living it large. big girls u r beautifull!

  • the inspired child

  • the boys can also do this with a little bit of practice. this is actually my fav. it shows that u don't have to wear hot pants to do the moves

  • and the pros, can do it even better. and if u notice, they add some moves of their own.

  • and if ur Justin Timberlake, u can still do this and get away with it.

  • and of course, the original and undisputed queen B. she sings & dances at the same time!!

p/s: i know some of u who'll be going to beyonce's concert!! make sure ya'll know the moves ok!! 0OOo00 0OO0OOooh

talking about feeling not guilty..

cakap-cakap maestronine

hehe firstly pinjam copyright from dr. cik yusma with regard to the title.. so dh promote ni, blh lah belanja wagamama ke kan ;)

the feeling is awesome.. stay in bed waiting for someone to serve breakfast - breakfast-in-bed.. harapan lah kn.. xde rasa bersalah sgt utk x study.. the books + notes are still all over the place.. need to do some room cleaning.. hate being in a "kecah" [kay-cah] room.. or shall i say kapal pecah..

and come to think about it.. it's not over until it's over.. so by definition, unless the "black and white" is out, then we're certainly "finish and done" with med school.. till then no worries and keep saying your prayers and do'a.. nothing will beat His decision and destiny.. for yourself and classmates and friends and everyone.. success is best celebrated together lads.. all for one, one for all..

and again the phrase "finish and done" in inverted comas was intended to imply that even we graduated later on, we still have to continue to contribute back to the school and society.. regardless where ever you are, teach and make time for the medical students (and other ppl out there for that matter).. help them as much as possible.. provide them with opportunities to do stuffs.. make yourself known and available..

wishing everyone all the best for the grand finale.. and would like to thank everyone for running this marathon together with me.. thanks a million!! and apologise for any conflict, drama, misunderstanding along the way.. sorry!! hopefully this comradeship remains forever and never end..

till then.. take care.. jaga diri.. makan minum jangan lupa.. kesihatan itu penting.. sama2 kita berdo'a..

Final fever is over

cakap-cakap shahied

Alhamdulillah.. Done and over with the FINALS.

Now just waiting for the final confirmations on Friday.
Hopefully that FYP wont give any problems..
The moment that the orals result were read out, it was like a big rock was lifted.
The hours before that were the most nervewrecking...
The feeling was indescribable.
The weird thing was, it wasn't HAPPINESS.
It was more of relief and disbelief.
I don't know why happiness wasn't a part of it. Well, your'e supposed to be happy right?
I didn't expect this at all.
When i arrived home, i wanted to shout on top of my lungs. Just to let it all out. But i can't and i had to restrain from showing too much relief as my housemates haven't finished theirs yet..
The exam itself wasn't the best that i could have done. I felt that i had so much more to give but it appears that the examiners were rushing and not interested to go further. Nevertheless, i've always maintained that the most important thing is to pass this exam. All the others would be considered as a bonus.
This year hasn't been the easiest. Lots of ups and downs. Downs particularly.. And the year has finally end and those feelings hasn't gone away too far. Always lingering. Success came with a cost. Am i happy with how i achieved the success? I would have to say no. But its all have been done and said so we have to live with it.

I'll be coming home not long now. HOMECOMING, for the final time hopefully.
What awaits back home i wouldn't dare to guess. How it will be after all this time. I'm excited to find out nonetheless!

.4 years, 8 months and counting.

cakap-cakap pembuli

His 'romantic' voice was rather annoying during the first year,
But
Shahid turn out to be our dearest big brother,
Whom we can rely on comes whatever,
He's special in his own way, that's for sure.

Aiman is more relaxed now than before,
With his spontaneity, he surprised me even more,
He's full of emotions, he's not letting it go,
But his confidence and determination I truly adore.

Used to play his guitar on yahoo messenger,
Now I see
Ameen as a future leader,
But he's so silent, no more laughter,
Probably he's seriously thinking about the future.

Such a sweet talker when we first met him,
Nik tongkat was also his nickname,
Very well-mannered and full of discipline,
Knows everything about sport, that defines him.

Izad is the youngest in the house of 75,
Definitely the one with political mind,
He's got a lot of potential, I'm not surprised,
I wonder if he's still looking for a 'trophy' wife?

So that's a little bit of everyone,
Who beautify our memories with the pleasant ones,
Be grateful for this moment although for once,
With laughter and joy, no more whine.

p/s: Terima kasih kerna sudi pelawa,
Ku coret sedikit memori yang ada,
Maafkan andai terkasar bahasa,

among the first vs. among the last..

cakap-cakap maestronine

does it really matter?? for sure there are pros and cons.. i'm talking about your turn to impress.. the opportunity to impress.. to be under the limelight.. to be admired.. be it in the penalty shoot-out.. in the presentation.. in the clinical exam.. out of 5 modules taken this year, only one (surgery) which i was assigned to the very first day [out of 2 clinical exam days].. the other four - according to the chronology of events: paeds = the last day [out of 4 clinical exam days]; cp {fyp presentation} = the last day [out of 2 presentation days]; obs & gynae = the last day [out of 3 clinical exam days]; and medicine = the last day [out of 3 clinical exam days]..

i'm not sure myself, but i think i would prefer to be among the first on most occasions.. having said that, i don't mind to be among the last in the list to make a strike..

or in the middle??

till then, all the best lads!! selamat maju jaya..

Talking About 24 x 5

cakap-cakap theclumsydoctor

In the middle of my blog-hopping activity, I came across a blog aspired by Dan Waber's. Dan Waber is a 40-year-old guy who decided on his 40th birthday, to write 40 words everyday about a person for the whole year, which he encountered during his 40 years of life. So, 365 stories altogether about people he choose randomly to talk about.

It seems an interesting idea to follow suit, but I don't think I would have enough time to sleep once I entered the working life, let alone to blog everyday.

So, in relation to the invitation by the 75ers, I decided to write 24 words (well, I'm technically still 23, but I need one extra word :P) about this 5 men which I encountered during my 5 years in Cork. So, kira oraitla kan. Setahun sorang. (bunyi macam player gila, haha!)

Mr Monday
My mom nicknamed him Dato', as he wore his infamous blue Batik shirt the first time she met him. I have no doubt he will be one someday.

Mr Tuesday
I must say, I did not know him much. He usually greets me with his wide smile, and say, "Yusma, apa cerita?" Very Irish-like.

Mr Wednesday
I was always at odds with him during First Year. But he turns out to be the big brother you can always rely on.

Mr Thursday
A man with determination. He knows what he wants and would not let anything stand in his way. Will miss his bright yellow jacket.

Mr Friday
He is full of surprises. He likes to ask random questions and smile aimlessly, but I love his honesty and sincerity. The pleasant friend.

At first, I was thinking to write poem/pantun-like post, but we'll leave that for Miss Juliana next week ;)

Yusma, out. Peace!

the boys of 75

cakap-cakap ilman aiman

And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we leave 75
we keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same

But when we leave this year some won't be coming back
No more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if we got something that we need to say
we better say it right now cause we don't have another day

Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
These memories are playing like a film without sound
And we keep thinking of that night in May
we didn't know much of stress but it came too soon

And there was me and you
And then we got real blue
Stay at home watching Britain's got talent,
And we would get so excited and we'd get so critical
Laughing at ourselves thinking life isn't fair
And this is how it feels

As we go on...we remember
All the times we... had together
And as our lives change... from whatever
We will still be...friends Forever

So if we get the big jobs and we make the big money
When we look back now will our DRAMA still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we do together?
watching tv, going to Stockholm, playing poker?

Will Izad still be a politician man?
Can Ameen find a wife before izad and aiman?
What about Shahid, will he be a paeditrician?
and Nik, an ortho surgeon to be if he doesn't betray man..
as for ilman, catch him if u can...

Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there? Can we make it somehow?
I guess I thought that this would never end

Will the past be a shadow that will follow us around?
Will these memories fade when we leave this town...

p/s: sorry if some parts don't rhyme as much. but when we speak from the heart, it doesn't have to be.. ececece

p/s: credit to mills. this one is classic !!!

As things are growing close to the end, and as people are going their separate ways, sometimes you forget how wonderful the 5 years have been. Friends are more like families. Brothers and sisters....

and two more exams to go.
It is not far, Sikit saja lagi.. Come on kawan kawan, we can do this. and once its over, a new exciting/scary phase of our lives will unfold.. till then, lets cherish the moments of our last days together...

We can almost see it
That dream we're dreaming but
There's a voice inside our heads saying,
We'll never reach it,
Every step we're taking,
Every move we make feels
Lost with no direction
Our faith is shaking but we
Got to keep trying
Got to keep our heads held high

There's always going to be another mountain
We're always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes we're going to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast we get there,
Ain't about whats waiting on the other side
It's the climb

yup, its the climb that matters, not the mountain.

Days of our lives

cakap-cakap shahied

Tomorrow is a new day. A new day to hope, a new day to fight for ur dreams, a new day to correct what u did wrong yesterday, a new day to be better than yesterday, a new day to start a whole new set of other meaningful days, a new day to cherish what you will miss from the yesterdays, a new day.

Yesterday was memory, was history, was regretful, was to be thankful for, was to reminisce about, was out of reach now.
You never can change what happened yesterday, you can never take back what you said yesterday, you can never undo the things you did yesterday, you can only look back... regret, rejoice, reminisce.. Ur choice.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.. U'll be missed. O yeah, Saturday and Sunday too :)

Love this song!
its a song by a Danish band. Danish meaning from Denmark :)
This song was their debut song in 2002 and i must say a good debut it was.
Their songs mostly are very deep and touchy-feely kind of songs. but to me most of them sings the songs of the exposed soul, looking for those elusive answer to our life's adventure.
Other songs from them that i recommend if you like this kind of genre is It's Ok Love, I Surrender, and The Day After Tomorrow.

It fills me up
It feels like living in a dream
It fills me up so I can’t see
The love you keep inside
The love you keep for me

I stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
It gives me time to stay
To watch you fade away
I dream of you tonight
Tomorrow you’ll be gone
I wish by God you’d stay

I stay awake
I stay awake and watch you breathe
I stay awake and watch you fly
Away into the night
Escaping through a dream...
